Bijli is an electric blue silk saree designed to make an impact through clarity of colour and carefully placed detail. Its luminous royal-blue body is interrupted by fine metallic pinstripes that create a clean, elongated rhythm across the drape. The deep blue silk provides a striking backdrop for the delicate floral motifs that appear across the saree.

Each floral embroidery motif brings together silver-toned petals, warm gold stems and leaves, and tiny red centres, creating a beautifully unexpected contrast against the blue ground. A broad metallic silver-toned border gives the saree a crisp festive finish, adding brightness at the hem without taking away from the refined simplicity of the body.

Bijli works beautifully with a silver, gold, red or matching blue blouse, depending on whether you want the look to feel classic, bold or tonal. It is a strong choice for evening celebrations, festive dinners, weddings and special occasions when you want a silk saree that feels modern yet rooted in traditional detailing. The design is expressive, but never overcrowded: a clear blue statement softened by flowers and light.

Technique: Traditional Chanderi Handweaving on frame looms.

How It’s Done: The warp is set with thousands of fine threads, giving Chanderi its signature crisp transparency. The weft is hand-inserted to create the smooth, lightweight structure the craft is known for. Borders or motifs (if included) are woven directly on the loom using the classic extra-warp or extra-weft methods practiced in Chanderi.

Time Taken: 2 weeks for loom setup and 2–4 days to weave one saree, depending on motif complexity.
