Mauve Mehfil - Tissue Cotton Saree

Mauve Mehfil is a lavender tissue cotton saree where softness meets a quiet, luminous shimmer. Delicately handwoven over two days, it carries a gentle mauve tone that shifts between lilac, silver and soft violet in changing light. The colour is serene yet celebratory, making it an elegant choice for occasions that call for understated radiance.

The tissue weave gives this saree its signature sheen. Fine metallic threads catch the light across the cotton base, creating a fluid, almost moonlit glow without making the drape feel heavy. The surface has a soft tonal variation that adds depth to the lavender shade, while the subtle handloom texture keeps the saree tactile and full of character.

A fine self-toned border frames the drape with a clean finish, allowing the lustrous fabric to remain the focal point. As the saree falls into pleats, the sheen becomes more pronounced, creating gentle bands of light and shadow across the body. The long pallu carries the same soft shimmer, making it especially graceful when worn loose over the shoulder.

Mauve Mehfil is well suited to festive dinners, intimate weddings, poojas, evening events and special celebrations where you want to look elegant without being overly embellished. Technique: Handweaving on traditional pit looms with zari woven throughout.

How It’s Done: The warp and weft threads are carefully arranged and handwoven on the loom. Zari threads are integrated throughout the saree by hand, giving a subtle, even shimmer across the fabric.

Time Taken: 2 week to hand-prepare the loom and 2 days to hand-weave the saree, including the zari work.
